The Marauders

The Marauders hail from Altoona in the mountains of western Pennsylvania. The Marauders are headed up by frontman Ben Dumm, and have been playing non-stop since they formed in 2001. They play an aggressive 50's styled rockabilly with a few hints of old country thrown in just so you know where they are coming from. Ben Dumm has played in local legends 5Knuckle Shuffle, the Revolvers and the Full Time Kings. The Marauders have some of the most talented musicians around. Chris Lawson hammers the stand-up bass, Makon Thanksgiving tends the drums, Rik Golden shines on guitar, Ryan Sager strums acoustic guitar and who knows who else these guys will bring in? The only thing better than the solid music these guys make is their down-to-earth and super laid-back attitudes. No flash, no glitter, no need... These guys strip away all the bullshit and let the crowd sing their praises. It's rock-a-billy you can relate to with influences all over the board, The Marauders apply the a PA standard to an old tradition.

Ben Dumm, lead singer/guitarist of rockabilly act The Marauders, said he isn't really sure what he likes about the music he makes. "That's like asking someone what they like about sex," Dumm said, "It's good music and it has a lot of integrity. It's fun like all good rock'n'roll is."After starting out in a punk rock act, Dumm had some rockabilly songs he had written and was looking to put them down on tape. He then got some friends together and recorded the songs; the result was the band The Marauders. The band rocks mostly original material when it plays live and strives for honesty in its live show. Inspired by music as diverse as the Ramones and the Rolling Stones, Dumm said everyday things bring about The Marauder's songs.
