The Nekromantix first album - a classic! Some of their best songs are on this CD. Supplies of this item can be spasmodic, so buy it while you can! To check if we have it in stock, go to the 'N' page (menu below) and look for it. If you can see it, we've got copies.
"Good semi-Punkabilly rock'n'roll. I like this CD a lot. Great tunes from this Danish band. Lots of fast Psychobilly tunes, the best kind. The bass sound is kinda weird at times, sounds like an electric. But I really like it anyway. There are some very different kinds of songs, most of the album is straight up Psychobilly, but there are some other great songs, like 'Brain Error' - I love that song. The opening track 'Nekromantix' is really good too. A big plus for me always is that most of the album has a cool bass slappin sound, for example, the opening of 'Nekromantik Baby' has a cool slow bass opening. Overall, I'd have to give it two thumbs up! If I had more thumbs, they'd be up too, buy it." Josh K
The history of the Nekromantix begins in Denmark back in 1989. They were founded by Kim Nekroman who just had left the Royal Danish Navy after eight years in submarines. After two local Danish shows the band appeared on a big festival in Hamburg, Germany, just six months after their first rehearsal session ever. This resulted in the first Nekromantix release, 'Hellbound'. At that time the European psychobilly scene was mainly dominated by British bands and psycho fans world-wide welcomed the Nekromantix new and different style of Psychobilly. The music is best described as 'Elvis meets the Wolfman', add punk attitude and spice it with a universe of monster movie lyrics. Outrageously wild on stage and with their trademark hardcore-slapping coffin-shaped upright bass, these guys are every mother-in-law's nightmare!
