Eddie Cochran - Don't forget me

Eddie Cochran - Don't forget me RSRCD014The title refers to the way that Eddie Cochran would often sign his autographs. This is a good one. Some nice alternate takes of well-known songs, nice pix. As with all Rockstar CDs, you get an excellent booklet. The sound quality is really good when one considers that many of these were just demos.

Eddie Cochran

"Those fanatics at Rockstar are at it again with another Eddie Cochran collection mixing material that has been out before with a few unissued cuts including the hot instrumental 'String Fever' and the eminently forgettable acoustic guitar instrumental 'Rain'. There are also some alternate takes of previously reissued tracks and a number of accompaniments where Eddie's guitar work outshines the often lame vocals. There are also a couple of live cuts from 1957 (Alan Freed show, I think). The instrumental work throughout shows just what a fine and varied guitarist he was - on one cut he even sounds like Les Paul!" Roots and Rhythm

"Despite a number of duplicates, this is a wonderful tribute CD, combining classic tracks like 'I'm Ready', 'Pink Peg Slacks' (the fantastic version issued on 'Cherished Memories' - minus the overdubs for the first time), 'Milk Cow Blues' and 'Jelly Bean' with recently unearthed acetates such as 'Mighty Mean' , the long-rumored 'Sick and Tired', 'Guitar Blues' or 'One Minute To One' -- and adding new discoveries like the instrumental 'String Fever', a complete take of 'Fast Jivin' with the great Joe Maphis and Ernie Freeman in support, 'Rockin' And Flyin' (sung by Jerry Capehart), and yet another beautiful instro, 'Rain', which Eddie intended to give to Duane Eddy. STUNNING !!!!" Paul Vidal, 1998/1999
