The Crickets have influenced virtually every major rock performer from Bruce Springsteen and Dylan to the Rolling Stones and Beatles. The Crickets even helped inspire the Beatles' name. "When someone like Paul McCartney says "If it wasn't for The Crickets, there wouldn't be any Beatles", I say "Excuse me? I'd like to hear that again!" Jerry Allison, Original member/The Crickets

The Crickets were formed in Lubbock, Texas by Buddy Holly and J.I. Allison. Joe B. Mauldin was later recruited. They were one of the first groups to play, produce, and record their own material. The Crickets are most known for hits like 'That'll Be The Day', 'Peggy Sue', 'Oh Boy', 'Not Fade Away', 'Maybe Baby', 'I Fought The Law', and 'More Than I Can Say'. These hits are known as primary lessons in how rock music should be written, played, and enjoyed. After Buddy Holly died, The Crickets continued in their own right.
