Wild Bob Burgos

Founder member of pioneering Rockabilly revivalists Matchbox and Shotgun, Wild Bob Burgos continues to release raw, powerful, uncompromising Rock'n'roll. Unpolished, rough and ready - just how it should be - and driven along by his trademark Sledgehammer Rock'n'roll beat!
The notes inside the booklet of this CD illustrate just how important a figure Wild Bob Burgos is in Rock'n'roll Music. As well as liner notes from Chris Woodford of 'Now Dig This' magazines (Britain's long established and best Rock'n'roll journal), there are endorsements from such rockin' legends as Janis Martin, Billy Lee Riley, Johnny Carroll, Ray Campi, Sonny Burgess as well as members of Bill Haley's original Comets and Gene Vincent's original Bluecaps!
'It's Gotta Be Rockin' is packed with new original songs, with solid backing from his band The Houserockers.

"The message is loud and clear - It's Gotta Be Rockin'! Ever since Bob Burgos was drawn into the South London Rhythm & Blues scene of the late 1960's he knew his music had to be rough and raw and it had to rock. In those days the whole area was a mini-Chicago, alive with cafes, pubs and clubs blasting a deafening mix of blues and Rock'n'roll. By the 1970's South London was rocking every night of the week with bands squeezing into every available space to play to heaving, sweaty crowds. It was in this heady atmosphere that the Rock 'n' Roll revival was born - and Bob Burgos wanted more than anything to be part of it.
At the time Bob was working as a local tattooist - and to say that he exploded on to the scene is something of an understatement. In no time at all he became known as 'The Tattooed Sledgehammer of Rock'n'roll'.
Bob's fame spread beyond the confines of South London and by the mid 1970's he was playing with Screaming Lord Sutch, Freddie Fingers Lee, The Wild Angels, Shotgun, C.S.A. and the hugely successful Matchbox. He became an in-demand International session musician playing with nearly every visiting American Rock'n'roll star. To fully realise his Gotta Be Rockin' ambitions, Wild Bob Burgos formed his own band, the now legendary House Rockers.
From that day to this Wild Bob Burgos and his House Rockers have pursued an unrelenting policy of Real Rock'n'roll which is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Off stage Bob is a modest, mild-mannered man - but on stage he's Dynamite! I've been a fan for many years and it's my pleasure to introduce what the real professionals in Rock'n'Roll have to say..."
