Matchbox
This is Graham Fenton's legendary Matchbox at their very best! Six of the seven tracks on this mini-album are previously unissued - including a great version of their classic anthem 'Rockabilly Rebel'. This was recorded after their hits and is less 'pop' than those recordings. It's actually a fine Neo-Rockabilly record, and one of their best ever records. 'Drivin' Wheel' (Roosevelt Sykes) is an excellent version - I still like T Bone Burnette's version! 'It's all over now' is the old Gladiolas song written by Bobby Womack. Rolling Stones? Nah.... Wash Machine Boogie is the old Echo Valley Boys' song - a version of this was recorded by Matchbox on their first Rockhouse album ('Riders in the sky'). 'Piggy Back Sue' was a minor hit in the 1970's for Jonah Louie. 'Blue skies' is a Bob Burgos song, and 'Radar Love' (Golden Earring) becomes a brilliant neo-rockabilly song. There should be more records like this. It comes to you with our highest recommendation. Matchbox on this CD are:
