Describing their music is impossible. Sure, there are healthy elements of Psychobilly and Rock'n'roll, but this all-girl band from Kiev play their music in a style all of their own - and comparing them to any other band would do them no justice. They make classics such as 'Summertime' or 'Be Bop A Lula' their own, but it's their own material that steals the show. Oxana, Anna, Sveta and Tanya are four outstanding musicians from Kiev (Ukraine), who make up a unique band calling themselves The Rockland Ladies. Their style is not comparable to any other band - they blend classic 1950's Rock'n'roll with 90's style Psychobilly, along with many other influences which come from the fact that they are all classically trained musicians, and they are natives of Eastern Europe. With many achievements in their own country to their credit, this CD is their first release for a Western European audience. Here they cover some classic 50's Rock 'n' Roll tunes, but their interpretations make these songs their own. But it is their own compositions such as 'Rocking Demons' and 'It's Now Or Never' where the quality of their musicianship and songwriting, and their diverse influences can be experienced at their best.
