The Ringlets Trio is a German Rockabilly outfit. They are:
Gunnar Fick - Upright bass and vocals
Ulrich van der Schoor - Guitars and backing vocals
The Ringlets Trio from Siegen area have been around since 1986. Frontman and bass player Gunnar proves himself the steadiest as he looks after the band's bookings, etc. Gunnar is in luck as he has got a boss who allows him to organize his time which is taken up by his music. Former guitarist Klaus Treude got married in the early 90's and followed his wife who is American to the USA. He has been replaced temporarily by Jens Pinkernell who then gave over his place to Ullrich, who is a studied musician and trained pianist, and is the only one in the band who earns his living completely from music. He mainly deals with music education and with setting old silent movies to music where he changes the particular moods into tones and notes live with other musicians. The first time he joined the Ringlets Trio was in 1994 as a guest pianist for the CD-recording. During the early years of the trio, drummer Christof, who usually attends to his studies, replaced the former drummer who didn't want to spend so much time at it. The Ringlets Trio have performed nearly all over Germany plus a few gigs in the Netherlands and in Luxemburg. Since Klaus emigrated to the USA, they even did a little tour through Texas where they played in a blues club called 'Hank's Roadhouse' in Austin, TX. Additionally, they appeared in a few tv-shows and produced a professional video for RTL. In 1992, during a convivial evening, a CD emerged produced under the pseudonym 'Blue Velvet Rockabilly Trio' which does not appear in the official discography. Musically, they offer a wide range, for example Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, instrumentals and - from time to time - even a little bit of country in different tempo variations. And Gunnar knows well how to articulate it with his bright and slightly nasal voice. As an upshot it is to say that the self-penned songs suit well with the originals.
Seit 1986 ist das RINGLETS TRIO weltweit in Sachen Rock'n'Roll unterwegs. Vorwiegend dem Rockabilly verschrieben, fühlt sich die Band auch in den Stilrichtungen der American-Roots-Music der 40er und 50er Jahre zu Hause: Rock'n'Roll, Western Swing, Blues und Jive. Bei gemeinsamen Auftritten mit den Stray Cats, Dale Watson oder der Climax Bluesband bis hin zu Jürgen Drews und den Asbachtaler Musikanten eroberte sich die Band ihr Publikum im Sturm - nicht zuletzt durch eine professionelle Bühnenshow mit waghalsigen Stunt-Elementen, bei denen Herzen und Beine brechen. Auf großen und kleinen Bühnen, in Clubs und auf Festivals präsentiert sich das RINGLETS TRIO in stilgerechtem Outfit und ist dabei stet's bemüht, nach einer durchtanzten Nacht den Mob schweißgebadet nach Hause zu schicken.
