The Be Bops
"The Be Bops have already proved for a long time that they are for sure one of the most authentic Rock'n'Roll bands in the world. After their hit single, 'Gonna Find Me A Baby', which was on pole position on most of the rockin' record hops around the world, here comes their new exciting record. It features 10 hot tracks, five songs composed by Mario Mattucci, the lead guitarist of the Be Bops, and five hot cover songs. The CD contains four brand-new recorded bonus-songs. Dig it!" Formed in 1978 by Mario Matucci (Guitars) and Walter Tollis (Double Bass), the two friends had rock'n'roll as a common musical interest. They tried out several different formulas before forming The Be Bops at the end of 1981. Dario Matucci, Mario's younger brother, who was also bitten by the rock'n'roll bug, becaume their drummer. They were joined by their neighbour and friend David Vandenbussche (a.k.a. David Green) on vocals. At this time they rehearsed regularly. A friend came by and asked them if they would play at an Italian party where he would be the D.J. It was at this party, at Manceau Sur Sambre, that the Be Bops gave their first concert in January 1982. The 250 people who attended the gig were very enthusiastic and it has to be said that David, who had just turned 13, already had a certain talent for singing, but more important is the fact that the audience was pleasantly suprised by the style of music played by the band: fifties rock 'n' roll.....
