The Kentucky Boys

German 'Ted' band. Their version of 'Dirty old town' is great! The Kentucky Boys are definitely a cut above the average for this type of band. Recommended.

"Many come, many go - The Kentucky Boys stay! Since the end of the 80's the Rock'n'Roll infecTED Quiffs from Southern Germany have been touring the world with their motto 'Rock'n'Roll is still alive'. Gigs and tours in Germany, England, Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy have been part of their lives for a long time now. Also Norway and Finland are not safe from the Boys. Add to that appearances on the radio and on TV, as well as songs for the soundtrack of the movie 'Roadrunner' speak for themselves. They have shared the stage with well-known bands like Matchbox, Crazy Cavan etc. The Kentucky Boys' wild stage show even gave them the opportunity to support German stars like Ted Herold or Truck Stop, and also to see a prison from the inside - but, of course, only to entertain the inmates! But how to describe their style...? They prefer British Rockabilly - Rock'n'Roll, but you can't just put them into the Teddy Boy category. Their unconventional Kentucky Boys style ranges from Country to Rhythm & Blues including a lot of their own songs, some of which have already been covered. Their own songs /Wild Cruisin Cat', 'T.E.D.S.', 'No Name' etc., but also their covers like 'Please Mama Please', 'Sea of Heartbreak' or 'Teddy Boy' are well-established parts of Record Hops all over the world. The Boys are influenced by Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Eddy Cochran, Elvis... and even the great Revival bands of the 70's." Excerpted from band website
