"This is generally regarded as one of the seminal Psychobilly albums of all time, and I'd have to agree. The quality of the musicianship in this band is amazing. The guitar work is *uckin' brilliant and Kim Nekroman is a maniacal bass player. *ucking great, *ucking fast, and *ucking fun to listen to. Some of my favorite songs are Curse Of The Coffin, Devil's Smile and S/M, you can't beat the sounds of a woman being whipped to open a track, and that is the truth. Nekromantix know what it is all about: blood, sex, and rock'n'roll. They also have their own sound that is unlike anything else in this genre, a couple of bands have tried to take things from it, but no one can do the Nekromantix like they can. This band is responsible for a lot of fans coming to psychobilly music and this CD is a good reason why, if you don't have it yet you are a schmuck." Josh K "The second full length by these Danish psychos. This album came out in 1991 and was the follow up to their debut 1990 album titled 'Hellbound' which was released on the Dutch label 'Tombstone Records'. This release being on the more known... Nervous Records... was most likely one of the first major stepping stones that these cats received back in the early days. The tracks on here have influenced many of the newer psycho bands of the mid to late 90's world wide. A unique blend of psychobilly and punk attitude give Nekromantix one truly amazing sound. I'm sure most of you know this album as it's over a decade old, however if you don't... I'd suggest getting it, as it's a definite piece of Psychobilly history! Favorite tracks on here are Survive or die, Mama don't allow and Devil smile." The Psycho Avenger 2002"Ah! The Nekromantix... I was very fortunate to find anything on them especially here where I live ..... Alright let me get to the cd already... The cd starts with good opening track in 'Devil Smile', then it's followed by another explosive track in Curse of the Coffin. Then it kind of slows down for the next song S/M, but then goes right back into it with the next couple of songs. I thinks it's the next three or four - Motorpsycho, Howlin' at The Moon and Alice in Psycholand before another slow song comes in. This album just blew my mind since the only album I have is Return of The Loving Dead and have seen them live once (which is how I came to know them). So for me this album was just one big explosion. I think it's one of those landmark records that anybody in the scene should have cause it's a pretty powerful album. I just wish their albums were easier to come about, instead of ordering it. If you purchase this album you won't be sorry, and if you already own it, then you're one of the lucky ones..." Johnny Graves "This is one amazing album. The sound is very different than the sound of the well known Return of the loving dead. It's much faster and the lyrics are much deeper. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of the best psychobilly albums ever. Keep on Wreckin!!!!" Jon (USA) "...regarded as their best by many." - Wikipedia |
