Southern Bound
Yeah! Yeah! Okay I'll give you that we might be just a little bit biased and we could possibly have a vested interest in making these guys the success they deserve to be. But we think that their recent Rockin' debut has started a chain of events that will act as testimony to just how good this CD really is. Firstly, the guys have recorded tracks most regularly requested at gigs. Secondly, they have catered for just about everyone. Thirdly, the original material on this recording has been severely sought after by some really big names. All this because someone outside of their hometown took a chance on a new band. You've all read how the guys played the Tennessee and apart from regular Rockin at Skegness weekenders and in their hometown, that night has to go down as one of their first official Rockin' gigs. Followed swiftly by a launch party at The Old Tigers Head, the gigs came flooding in. All of you who have seen the band will have heard many tracks from the CD already and will also know what characters these three are. And the more you encourage them the worse they get, so the CD is a veritable mardi-gras, a festival of bass and proof that Rock'n'roll definitely lives on. Ready Willing and Able is exactly what Southern Bound are. Every track on the CD is played in the guys own inimitable style right down to Cliff Richard's 'Move It', and I certainly have never beard anyone cover King Creole. Linette's personal favourite is 'Sweetheart or Strangers'. Ahh ain't that nice! My favourite is 'Hot Rod 'n' Rockin', pounding bass and some pretty slick guitar, fast vocals and a big backbeat. Rockin' anthems such as 'Boppin' Bonnie', 'Mystery Train' and 'Seven Nights to Rock' all add to the versatility of the CD and indeed the band, who are:- Mick lead Vocals & Double Bass, Darren lead Guitar & Vocals, Gary Drums & Backing Vocals.
