LA Times - Pick of The Week
"The playing sparkles with invention... A delightful album."

Paul Johnson was one of the principal founders of all-instrumental surf music in the early '60s. His tune, 'Mr. Moto' is a genre classic; his innovative, lyrical playing style led to numerous studio credits, and his prolific output of original tunes and creative ideas made him one of the most respected figures of that period. In addition to his current solo work, Paul Johnson is highly visible as a member of the Surfaris ('Wipeout') and with the Duo-Tones - his unique collaboration with Gil Orr.
'Christmas Guitars' features Paul Johnson's ingenious solo multi-track arrangements of these delightful tunes and carols. You may hear anywhere from two to a half-dozen guitars (each of which is Paul) on various tracks.
