The Belvadares
The Belvadares hail from Cumbria and have been filling the dancefloors all over the UK with their own brand of rocking jive and rockabilly. The Belvadares were on tour in the Arab Emirates for six weeks in 2003. There is a good selection of rockin' jive tracks and an instrumental (Crossfire) along with the Chris Spedding track 'Motorbikin'. This track also features the amazing guitar playing of the legendary Albert Lee who is a great pal of the group. A great CD by a nice bunch of people! Fury Records - 2004
The Belvadares - bio
SHAUN - Lead Guitar and Vocals. Shaun has been playing Rock'n'roll for a lifetime. Loves the music and everything associated with 50's Rock'n'roll. He is heavily influenced by Scotty Moore and Cliff Gallop. TRACY - Vocals - Percussion. Tracy always a singer. A fabulous natural talent - never still on stage and that's why we have named her: THE POCKET ROCKET! CHRIS - Bass Guitar. Chris has always loved Rock'n'roll. He is in great demand for his style of playing and ability. He is also The Belvadare's web-designer and technical advisor. MIKE - Drummer Mike comes from North of the border and likes to be called Mr Martini. As he says, he has played anytime, anyplace and anywhere. Mike's influences are from a rock and rock'n'roll background and this adds the edge to the sound of The Belvadares that they were looking for. ROB - Double Bass & Vocals. Rob has been playing double bass since the late 90's, and loves Rock'n'roll. Rob played for a couple of local bands before joining The Belvadares. Rob sings backing as well as main vocal on part of the set.
Shaun formed The Belvadares in 2000. Although Shaun had been in Rock'n'roll bands before, he had never been able to get the right people with a true feeling for Rock'n'roll. Carlisle, Cumbria is rural and true Rock'n'roll musicians are very thin on the ground. So Shaun taught his brother Chris the bass guitar. He also got his wife, Tracy, involved whom he coached in the aspects of Rock'n'roll singing. As you can see, it ended up as a family affair. Rob came into contact with The Belvadares through a mutual friend in Newcastle and once he was auditioned, we knew he was the final ingredient to the recipe. Mike the drummer joined the band in April 2003. He comes from north of the border and gave The Belvadares the edge that they had been been looking for. The Belvadares endeavour to bring the true spirit of the music to whomever they play to.
