Tennessee Rhythm Riders
Rock'n'roll fans, Phil and Lynette Morgan from Fleet, Hampshire, England, got married and decided to form a band. They did not want to perform straight rock'n'roll but they also loved the country boogie and swing of one of its influences, Rose Maddox. They formed the Tennessee Rhythm Riders, featuring Lynette on lead vocals, Phil on steel guitar and Steve 'Willy' Briggs on lead guitar, who was the main songwriter. The Tennessee Rhythm Riders split some time ago and became Lynette Morgan & The Blackwater Valley Boys.
Hillbilly Hop - October 16 1999 at DeMarco's 23 Club, Brisbane, California, U.S.A.
"Terrific show from start to finish! The opening act was new local western swing combo Cari Lee & the Saddle-Ites followed by a great set from honky tonkers Jeff Bright & the Sunshine Boys. The headliner, making their Northern California debut, was England's Lynette Morgan & the Tennessee Rhythm Riders. Their echoes of Maddox Brothers & Rose were at times uncanny."
