The Rockats
The Rockats was one of the many pioneering rockabilly combos that helped repopularize rockabilly in the 1980's. This cd recorded from 1999 to 2001, and is a half studio album, half live album. The first four tracks were issued as an ep cd, the rest is live from New York clubs. There is a good version of Rockbilly boogie, even though the sound is slightly flunky at this particular club. The live recordings were from two different clubs, one having far superior recording equipment than the other, but overall the cd is very pleasing, and is straight up rockabilly, in the truest meaning of the word traditional! Great stuff.
