Jerry & The Rockets

The band formed in 1999. At that time, Walter and Max were looking for new musicians, because Simon and Paul had left the band 'Hot Stuff'. In Jerry, they found a good singer and pianist, but finding the right drummer proved to be more difficult. For a long time Andy Mötz was their main drummer, but when he enrolled at the Jazz School in Lucerne and also played in other outfits, they had to fall back on replacement drummers more and more often. In the end they had four of them!
     At the beginning of 2004, Roger Tellenbach decided to join permanently. After they had performed as a quartet for a year, Stefan Wiedemeier joined them on saxophone.
 
Jerry and the Rockets ist eine Band mit Songs aus den späten 40er- bis hin zu den frühen 60er Jahren. Unser Spektrum ist sehr breit. Wir spielen puren Rockabilly, Western Swing, Hillbilly, Boogie, Jive, Swing oder gar Blues. Je nach Publikum versuchen wir unser Programm anzupassen. Wir sind in der Lage, in passendem Outfit die Zuhörer an einer Hochzeit oder einem Firmenanlass zu begeistern. Ein anderes Mal spielen wir in Cowboymontur an einem Country Festival alte Hillbilly oder Western Swing Nummern. Oder aber, an Partys, in Pubs, Jazz-Lokalen oder an sonstigen Konzerten alles was mit gutem und vor allem echtem, alten Rock 'n' Roll zu tun hat.
