Nine Lives

"This album sounds wicked. Once the opening track is out of the way this album kicks ass with some of the best contemporary rockabilly I have heard in ages. The production is fantastic and the songs excellent. I know nothing about this band, but I suspect they're Finnish as the label is. The lyrics are all in English and the music has some unusual twists and turns that keep listener glued to the loudspeaker right till the end of the 15 track disk." Deathrow Database, 1996

"I've been playing the title track opener quite a bit. It's strolltimed piece of neo with a haunting vocal like Chris Isaak. 'Lost Little Gal' is similar, but slower. You'll find 'You're So Eager' to be a neo rocker, as with the fluid and unrelenting 'Let Me Enter' with its 'Long Tall Texan' style like 'Shake It Up'n'Go' and 'Knock Me Out' has a similar feel about it too. A can opens and pours, then a bass comes in for some neo riffs on 'Drunkfish'. There's some driving neo rockabilly fury on 'Let Me Enter' as with 'Lunatic' which even borders on psychobilly whilst 'Baby Don't Shoot' is a stomping neo stroller. 'Randy Rooster' is a minute long piece of instrumental malarky and 'Dance In A Trance' is pretty unusual with the strong rumbling drums setting the mood (like they do on something like 'Peggy Sue') and major changes every time they hit the chorus. There's some tremolo-laden Scandinavian instrumental styled guitar with a mellow vocal on 'Merry Go Round' and a like-sounding opening on 'I'm In The Mood' before closing with the aptly titled mellow 'Goodbye'. Well crafted lyrics on a CD which really grows on you with material like 'I'm In The Mood' & title." Marc Fenech Southern & Rocking, No 12 1996

Outstanding in terms of content and performance!!! You're not wrong about 'Shake it up and go' and every other track too!! B. Jones (Scotland).
