Vince Everett, along with Ral Donner, was an Elvis 'soundalike', but he was SO much better than today's 'impersonators' - he did it with STYLE..

Vince Everett
Good 'Elvis' type stuff from way back. There are those who say that some of these are better than the Elvis originals. Some say that some of them actually ARE Elvis. I don't really believe it, but if you do like 'Elvis' stuff, then this is a truly excellent CD. 'The Real Vince Everett' compiles the original recordings from one of the best Elvis style performers of all time. Martin Benefield took the name Vince Everett from Elvis's character in the film 'Jailhouse Rock'. He was signed to ABC-Paramount Records and released a string of fine Elvis style records, and even used The Jordanaires as his vocal backing group. This CD comes complete with detailed liner notes and session information.
The American Vince Everett is really Marvin Benefield, not to be confused with another singer who used this name in UK, and he recorded in the USA for ABC-Paramount from 1962 to 1965. He chose that stage name because of the Elvis 'Jailhouse Rock' persona. One of Vince Everett's amazing remakes of Presley hits is 'Such a Night'. On it, Vince Everett uses an identical arrangement and vocal approach to the song, including vocal backing that sounds just like the Jordanaires. This is a superb CD, containing material that is sought after by both collectors of Rock'n'roll and those who remember him from way back. Either way, this is the stuff you're lookin' for!
