Krewmen

The Krewmen started as a rockabilly covers band in 1982. The Krewmen slowly evolved into one of the most influential psychobilly bands ever. What made the Krewmen different from other bands at that time was that they played incredibly fast, and the unique voice of singer Mark Cole. After their first three albums, Cole left the band and Tony McMillian took over on vocals. The sound changed somewhat. The band started also to experiment more in the recording studio. Sounds were added and samples were used on their later albums.
Famous ex band members of The Krewmen are Mark Burke who is nowadays better known for his work with the Phantom Rockers and Graham Grant, who played for many years with Demented Are Go.

"The early Krewmen (1983-84), sound was pure rockabilly. But Tony could not see a long time future playing this music. But more importantly, he wanted to write/produce and play his own music. The band's musical influences come from greats like, Chuck Berry, Alice Cooper, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Jimmi Hendrix and The Sex Pistols." www.thekrewmen.de

"Easily the biggest moment for me and, come to think of it, for old Steve too, was when we were 'kids' and Punk Music first hit us like a ton of bricks. Couldn't today's music industry do with another 'Big Kick Up The Arse' like that! As for The Krewmen, over the past fifteen years we had a few highlights. The first was in 1986 when Lost Moment Records agreed to us releasing our first Album 'The Adventures Of The Krewmen', for this was a totally different sound from the Rockabilly/Blues sound that first got us signed to the label. Next would be in 1987, our first major tour of Europe, we played some 80 + gigs on that tour. Oh, for the good old days of lots of venues that wanted good Kick Arse Music! The tour of the USA in 1988 was good too, for different reasons. We were the first band that used a double bass to hit the States that was not a copy of the Stay Cats." Tony

All of these recordings were made for Lost Moment Records.
